Venable Moore Staccato Decolorato Shibroi linen in Onyx, Paprika, Midnight, Fern, Plum, and Rose Clay

tonal shibori

'Staccato Decolorato' Shibori Pattern

'Staccato Decolorato' Shibori was developed from a series of hand-dyed silk studies. Using Venable Moore’s interpretation of the Arashi Shibori method, we created the initial studies for this pattern using a process that removes color from the fabric, rather than the typical application of color to the fabric. This leaching of dye from intricately bound and folded fabric results in the tonal, irregular dots that define the look of this print.

The resulting design balances structure with movement. The marks are rhythmic, but never fixed,  allowing it to read as a subtle texture from a distance and as a more defined surface up close.

Each Venable Moore pattern begins with a hand-painted, hand-dyed, or hand-draw original artwork and is sustainably produced to order in the United States. Fabrics are printed on natural fibers using low-waste processes and eco-friendly inks.

This design is available as 100% European linen fabric by the yard, linen pillow covers, and table linens in six colorways. The standard grounds are suitable for residential and low-traffic environments. Alternate and performance grounds are available to the trade for high-use applications.
