bleached shibori
'Staccato Sbiancato' Shibori Pattern
‘Staccato Sbiancato’ Shibori emerged from a series of hand-dyed silk studies. Using Venable Moore’s specially developed Arashi Shibori method, we created the initial studies for this pattern by using bleach to remove color from bound and folded fabric. The subtractive process produces the lively spray of marks that defines the design. This pattern feels light, rhythmic, and full of movement.
Each Venable Moore pattern begins with a hand-painted, hand-dyed, or hand-draw original artwork and is sustainably produced to order in the United States. Fabrics are printed on natural fibers using low-waste processes and eco-friendly inks.
This design is available as 100% European linen fabric by the yard, linen pillow covers, and table linens in six colorways. The standard grounds are suitable for residential and low-traffic environments. Alternate and performance grounds are available to the trade for high-use applications.
